Kona Coffee

So I went to Hawaii and got almost no knitting done. So much for my big plans to finish my new shawl. Can you tell I’m not sorry?

Maybe I didn’t knit much, but I did drink coffee–at least three times a day.

Coffee trees are past their peak after 35 or 40 years, but the folks at Greenwell have preserved some of the original coffee trees planted by the owner’s great-grandmother. These are 113 year-old trees, each still producing a handful of beans.
